Current Status of the Search for Ian Alexander Shelton

Although official law-enforcement search efforts for Ian Alexander Shelton have scaled back since his disappearance on December 3, 2025, investigative activity has not ceased. Ian was last seen on security footage at the Bait Shop / Park Office at Lake Afton in Goddard, Kansas, during the early morning hours.

As is often the case in long-term missing-person investigations, civilian searchers have continued organizing independent efforts. AMAP has been asked by several individuals connected to this case to review the circumstances of Ian’s disappearance and offer any insights that may assist ongoing searches.

To balance public transparency with operational responsibility, this post serves as a general explanation of my methodology and findings, while the interactive map constructed for Ian’s case is being shared privately with the civilian search team, law enforcement, and the family.

Where to Look for Ian Shelton — Astrological Context

Astrologically, transiting aspects to both Ian’s Sun and Moon at the time of his disappearance involved difficult, malefic influences. Combined with environmental conditions — including freezing temperatures and clothing unsuitable for prolonged exposure — it is my professional opinion that the search should be approached as a remains recovery, rather than an active survival scenario.

This assessment aligns with the fact that early law-enforcement efforts focused heavily on Lake Afton itself as a potential recovery site.

To remain methodically disciplined, I limit environmental interpretation to the 4th and 12th houses of Ian’s natal chart — houses traditionally associated with resting places, isolation, and final outcomes.

Ian’s 4th house cusp falls in the mutable sign Virgo, with its ruler Mercury placed in Pisces, also mutable. This configuration suggests movement and relocation, rather than permanence — indicating two resting places:  the location where he is now, and the location where he may ultimately be laid to rest by his family.

Environmental Indicators in the Search for Ian Shelton

Virgo on the 4th-house cusp often describes farmland, country roads, and areas where work has been done, past or present. With Mercury (ruler of the 4th) placed in Pisces and conjunct Saturn, the terrain suggested is not deep water, but land-adjacent water — culverts, drainage channels, rivulets beneath roadways, and areas thick with brush and trees.

Mercury’s conjunction with Saturn further suggests privately owned or older property, possibly land that was once used for agricultural purposes — such as cattle or dairy — but may now be underused or in disrepair. This type of land may not be directly adjacent to Lake Afton, but could lie along the route used to transport him.

Mercury also forms a trine to Jupiter, an aspect that often indicates tall structures — including cell towers, silos, antennas, telephone poles, and power pylons. These may be near the location or visible from it. Jupiter’s association with travel reinforces the importance of roads, transport routes, and infrastructure.

Additionally, Mercury’s rulership over movement and machinery, combined with the strong transportation signature in this chart, suggests the possibility of areas connected to vehicles or equipment — such as farm machinery lots, equipment storage areas, truck or trailer pull-offs, agricultural implement yards, or car/vehicle lots along rural routes. These locations are frequently found on farm-adjacent land in Sedgwick County.

Finally, Mercury’s square to Pluto — though separating — suggests changes in elevation. This indicates that Ian may not be visible from the roadway and could be located below road level, concealed by terrain or vegetation.

Longitude Analysis — Where Land and Sky Intersect

Picture
“Sedgwick County uses a surveyed grid system. Roads like 359th Street or 215th Street aren’t arbitrary — they are literal distance markers from a baseline and meridian.

Planetary longitude works the same way: everything is measured from a fixed zero point.

In this case, the longitude measurements at Ian Shelton’s birth and disappearance repeatedly match the same digits used by the roads surrounding Lake Afton.

I highlight those overlaps because when two independent coordinate systems — land and sky — keep producing the same numbers at critical life moments, that’s not interpretation. That’s shared geometry.”

Map Overview and Supporting Infrastructure

Picture
In the accompanying map image, roads highlighted in blue correspond directly with the longitude measurements active at Ian’s birth and disappearance. Green markers indicate known cell-tower locations within the same perimeter.

Silos, power pylons, and other vertical structures were not exhaustively mapped and should also be considered during searches.

Law enforcement is uniquely positioned to evaluate which of these locations may be most relevant using cell-phone data, including pings from both Ian’s device and the individual last known to be with him.

Primary Area of Interest — Ascendant–Venus–Pluto Sextile

The Ascendant–Venus–Pluto sextile active at the time Ian was last seen alive is of particular interest. When this aspect is vectored over the bait shop location, one of its directional arms aligns with the area where the individual last known to be with Ian was later observed on security footage at the Viola Grocery on Route 42, approximately 10 miles south of Lake Afton.

This is the same aspect repeated across locations tied to confirmed footage. For those with access to incoming intelligence — including cell-phone records, ring cameras, and reports regarding the white 2012 Mazda Miata — this vector deserves careful attention.

Final Thoughts

This work is not intended to replace investigative procedures, nor to draw conclusions beyond the available evidence. It is offered as a tool — one that identifies areas of convergence where multiple independent systems repeatedly overlap.

Search efforts are most effective when time, terrain, and resources are focused deliberately. If even one of these observations helps narrow that focus, then this work has served its purpose.

My thoughts remain with Ian’s family and with everyone continuing the search.
